Description

Tikus Tales is a playful isometric 3D action platformer from Brunei featuring two heroic mice, Suki and Tuki, that must outwit and defeat rebellious animals to restore balance to the Chinese Zodiac.

History

The game was conceptualized back in 2020, the Year of the Mouse in the Chinese calendar. The word 'tikus' means 'mouse' in Malay, and the names Suki and Tuki are derived from this word. At that time, I'd just finished making a 2.5D mobile game, and wanted to try my hand at a full 3D game. Hence, Tikus Tales was born. Taking initial inspiration from classics like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro, and some indie games like Death's Door, Tunic and Cuphead, the idea has always been to make a 3D platformer game with references to Brunei and Southeast Asia. Over the years, Tikus Tales has undergone a lot of changes, and the final version was settled on in February 2025.
